Hi everyone,
We’re making a behind-the-scenes upgrade to keep your experience smooth and uninterrupted.
Proxy-Cheap is transitioning our residential proxy network from AT&T to RCN due to upcoming policy changes. AT&T will stop supporting proxy and VPN traffic by the end of August 2025. But no need to worry — we’ve already put everything in place to ensure a seamless switch.
What You Need to Know
- Zero downtime – Your proxies will remain active throughout the transition.
- No IP changes – You’ll keep the same residential IPs you’ve been using.
- No action required – Everything will work as usual.
- Performance maintained – Same great speeds and reliability, now powered by RCN.
Why RCN?
RCN (part of the Astound Broadband group) is a top-tier US-based ISP known for:
- Fast connection speeds
- Reliable uptime
- Low latency
- Excellent support for streaming, scraping, and automation
It’s everything you need — just without the restrictions AT&T is introducing.
How the Transition Works
We’re using a hot cut migration strategy — a backend network switch that won’t affect your setup or require reconfiguration. The transition is already underway and will be complete before AT&T’s policy changes take effect.
Timeline
AT&T’s cutoff is scheduled for end of August 2025, but we’re proactively moving you to RCN ahead of time to ensure zero disruption. If you have any questions, our support team is here to help.
Thanks for continuing to trust Proxy-Cheap!
