Proxy connections from mainland China may be filtered, interrupted, or unavailable on some networks. Results can vary by internet service provider, region, proxy protocol, and proxy endpoint, so Proxy-Cheap cannot guarantee that every proxy will be reachable from every local network.
Before continuing, make sure your intended use complies with the laws and network rules that apply in your location.
Check your proxy details
- Log in to your Proxy-Cheap dashboard and confirm that the proxy is active.
- Copy the current server address, port, and proxy credentials from the dashboard.
- Confirm which protocol and authentication method the selected proxy supports.
Use your proxy credentials, not your Proxy-Cheap account email and password.
Troubleshoot the connection
- Check that the server address, port, username, and password were entered without extra spaces.
- If you use IP whitelist authentication, make sure the public IP address of your current network has been added to the whitelist.
- If another protocol is available for the proxy, try it and update the protocol in your application as well.
- Test the proxy on another permitted network, if available. This can help determine whether the original network is blocking or filtering the connection.
- If the use of a VPN or another secure network is permitted in your location, you can connect to it first and then test the proxy again.
The VPN server does not need to match the proxy location. The public exit location seen by the destination website is determined by the proxy, while the additional VPN connection may affect latency and stability.
