This guide explains how to configure an HTTPS proxy in Windows.

Before you start, make sure you have the proxy server address, port, and authentication details from your Proxy-Cheap dashboard. If Proxy-Cheap Support has provided a certificate for your HTTPS proxy, install that certificate before configuring the connection.

Install the certificate

Only install a certificate received directly from Proxy-Cheap Support.

1. Open the certificate file.
2. Select Install Certificate.
3. Choose Current User.
4. Select Place all certificates in the following store.
5. Choose Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
6. Complete the installation.

Configure the proxy

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Network & internet → Proxy.
3. Under Manual proxy setup, click Set up.
4. Turn on Use a proxy server.
5. Enter the proxy server address and port shown in your dashboard.
6. Save the settings.

If your proxy uses username and password authentication, enter those credentials when your browser or application prompts for them.

Do not use a PAC URL unless Proxy-Cheap Support has specifically provided one for your proxy.

Test the connection

Open a browser and visit an IP-check website. If the connection does not work, confirm the certificate, server address, port, protocol, and authentication method with Support.
