Concurrent connections, also called threads, determine how many simultaneous connections your proxy can handle.
Important: Increasing the connection limit does not increase proxy speed. It only allows the proxy to handle more simultaneous connections.
Rotating Residential Proxies
Self-managed Rotating Residential Proxies support up to 100 concurrent connections and speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
These limits are fixed and cannot currently be upgraded. Because Rotating Residential exit nodes can vary in capacity, higher concurrency and speed tiers are not available for this product.
Increase the connection limit
For eligible proxy products, you can increase the connection limit from the Proxy-Cheap dashboard:
- Open Overview or My Proxies in your Proxy-Cheap dashboard.
- Select the proxy you want to upgrade.
Note: The screenshots below show the process for proxy products that are eligible for a connection-limit change. Rotating Residential Proxies do not display these options and cannot be upgraded.
3. Scroll down to the Bandwidth section.
4. Find Concurrency (threads) and click Change.
5. Select your preferred connection limit.
6. Click Change to confirm.
The updated connection limit will be displayed in the Concurrency (threads) row.
Availability
Available connection limits depend on the proxy product and network. The dashboard displays the options currently available for your proxy.
If a higher connection limit is not displayed, your proxy is not eligible for an increase.
Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing connection issues:
- Check that your software is not opening more simultaneous connections than your current limit.
- Check whether the destination website is restricting or rate-limiting requests.
- Remember that increasing the connection limit does not improve proxy speed or latency.
- For Rotating Residential Proxies, reduce the number of simultaneous connections if you reach the fixed 100-connection limit.
