The number of concurrent connections available depends on your proxy type, network, and current configuration.

A concurrent connection, also called a thread, is one active connection running through the proxy at a given time. One browser page, application, or automation task may open several connections at once.

Check your current limit

1. Log in to your Proxy-Cheap dashboard.
2. Open Overview or My Proxies.
3. Select the proxy you want to check.
4. Find Concurrency (threads) in the proxy details.

The value displayed in your dashboard is the current connection limit for that proxy.

Can I increase the limit?

Whether you can change your connection limit depends on the proxy product and network.

For eligible proxies, you can check the available options in the dashboard:

1. Open the proxy in Overview or My Proxies.
2. Find Concurrency (threads) and click Change.
3. Select one of the available limits.
4. Confirm the change.

If Change or a higher limit is not displayed, that option is not available for the selected proxy.

Rotating Residential Proxies

Self-managed Rotating Residential Proxies support up to 100 concurrent connections and speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

These limits are fixed and cannot currently be upgraded. Because Rotating Residential exit nodes can vary in capacity, higher concurrency and speed tiers are not available for this product.

Important

• More threads allow more simultaneous connections, but they do not increase proxy speed or reduce latency.
• Browsers and applications may open several connections in the background, even when you are performing only one visible task.
• Exceeding the current limit may cause connections or requests to queue, fail, or time out.
• Always use the limit displayed in your dashboard as the current source of truth for your proxy.
