Follow the steps below to configure a Proxy-Cheap proxy on your iPhone using Shadowrocket and connect through the proxy.
Important Notes
- The setup flow uses SOCKS5.
- Notification permission is optional and does not affect the proxy connection.
- iOS VPN permission is required for Shadowrocket to connect.
- The selected proxy type must match the proxy you are using.
Setup Steps
Step 1: Open Shadowrocket
Open Shadowrocket on your iPhone. If the app asks for notification permission, you can allow or decline it.
Step 2: Add a new server
Tap the + icon in the top-right corner to open the Add Server page.
Step 3: Select the proxy type
Tap Type and select SOCKS5.
Step 4: Enter the proxy details
- Address - your proxy IP or hostname
- Port - your proxy port
- User - your proxy username, if required
- Password - your proxy password, if required
If your proxy uses IP-whitelist authentication, leave User and Password empty and make sure your current public IP is whitelisted in your Proxy-Cheap dashboard.
Save the server configuration when the details are complete.
Step 5: Start the connection
Return to the Shadowrocket home screen and select the proxy you added. For this setup, open Global Routing and select Proxy, then turn on the connection.
Step 6: Allow the iPhone VPN configuration
If iOS asks for permission to add a VPN configuration, tap Allow and complete any device-authentication prompt.
Step 7: Wait for the connection to complete & verify the proxy IP
- Wait until Shadowrocket shows that the connection is active.
- Open an IP-check website in your browser and confirm that the displayed IP is the proxy IP or proxy exit IP.
